Grief Support
This is a complimentary service for any family who is facing a terminal diagnosis or death of their unborn babyThe joys and anticipation of pregnancy can quickly turn into fear, anger or despair after a fatal diagnosis or outcome. My goal is to journey alongside you, as you navigate parenting your unborn baby through love instead of fear. I walk with you as you learn how to celebrate, honor, grieve and process this new chapter. This service is offered to any family who wishes to carry their pregnancy to term despite a life-limiting or fatal diagnosis, or who has experienced infant loss.
I understand that every pregnancy and diagnosis is unique. I have resources that will support you in finding out more information on what your diagnosis means as well as helping you to make informed decisions regarding you and your baby that are in alignment with your beliefs and values. You are not alone. I am here to walk alongside you and to offer support on your journey.
I provide the following at no cost to families:
• Sensitive care facilitated by a nurse trained in bereavement with personal experience in perinatal loss
• Educational, cultural, emotional, and anticipatory grief support
• A coordinator that serves as a liaison between medical professionals involved in your care
• Keepsakes and assistance with the collection and preservation of memory items
• Suggestions in creating a birth plan that expresses your wishes and honors your voice
• Support finding an individualized and private childbirth class
• Support for your extended family – including, but not limited to, siblings and grandparents
• Information for advanced funeral or memorial planning
• Referrals to community resources
• Follow up bereavement support for the years to come
